Notes regarding time
11:00 AM - 12:00 PMDescription
Ready for School, Ready to Succeed Families with children ages 3-5 not yet in kindergarten are invited to attend school readiness workshops with their child. A circle time with songs and a story is followed by hands on activity stations focusing on literacy, math, fine motor, creative arts and more. Come join the fun and meet local families while learning along with your child! We meet every Tuesday at 11:00 AM. On fourth Tuesdays we meet at Simpson Library in the children's programming room downstairs.
Working with the Capital Area Intermediate Unit and local schools, United Way of the Capital Region has launched Ready for School, Ready to Succeed. Through this initiative children ages 3 to 5 (and their families) can attend free virtual and in-person workshops to help prepare for kindergarten. This program is available to ALL families.
The program also helps connect families to:
- Affordable preschool programs (if available).
- Early intervention support through the Capital Area Intermediate Unit.
- Transportation and translation services.
- Basic needs services like food, clothing and shelter.
