Color in the Animal World
November 12 - How do animals use color? Why are some animals brightly colored, while others are dull and drab? Using the museum exhibits and collections, we will explore how color is used by a variety of different animals.
Beavers
December 7 - Why do beavers build dams? How do they stay warm in the winter? Why do they have orange teeth? How do beavers impact their environment? We will answer these questions and more as we learn about this fascinating rodent.
Animal Habitats
January 17 - Come learn what animals need to survive in their different habitats. This day will include an in-depth museum tour.
Waterfowl
February 4 - Learn what makes this group of birds unique, how to identify common waterfowl, and the impact humans have had on their populations in Pennsylvania.The 10,000-square foot museum is home to a collection of more then 40,000 artifacts - including Smithsonian quality African and North American mammals, birds, eggs, fish, seashells, minerals, insects, and fossils.
