New Puppet Theater, "Imaginary Friends," Comes to Strawberry Square

Welcome to the Neighborhood Imaginary Friends Puppet Theater! Weโ€™re Glad youโ€™re here.

A new neighbor is coming to Strawberry Square and we’re pretty excited about it.  Imaginary Friends Puppet Theater opens it doors to the public on June 1st and Macaroni KID Harrisburg West Shore and the Macaroni KIDcrew was invited out to a special preview performance.

Imaginary Friends aims to bring wholesome family entertainment to the capital area, introduce young children to the arts, and approach important topics like friendship, resilience, and acceptance.  And they do it with obvious talent!

Their first show, “Strawberry Square Get’s a New Neighbor,” opens June first.  The original story with original music is engaging and interactive and unanimously pleased my crowd.  Here’s what they had to say:

RiverKat, almost 3, “Yes.  Dat WAS so much fun.  Lets do dat again!”

TheRiddler, 5, “That was the BEST puppet show I’ve ever seen!” I mean, it was also the first puppet show he’s ever seen, but his enthusiasm tells you all you need to know.  Furthermore, the fact that my kids, who live for experiences in our community and the surrounding areas, have never before seen a puppet show, just goes to show the need in our community.

Rolandbot, the angsty tween, “That was actually pretty good.”  Just in case you don’t speak tween, this is a compliment of the highest order.  For him to acknowledge that he enjoyed anything short of a death-defying adventure or videogame and perhaps risk losing a coolness point, just speaks to the quality of the production.

Needless to say, we plan to add this as a regular stop on our rotation and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Ticket prices are currently $10 and you can purchase them by visiting puppetfriends.com.
