Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a great day of family fun

By Dauphin County Parks and Rec July 29, 2021

Everyone is invited to Dauphin County's 13th Annual Cultural Fest on Aug. 21 at City Island.

The event’s theme is “Family Reunion” and features food, art, family activities, and entertainment – including a headline performance by platinum-selling artist, Tony! Toni! Tone!

The FREE event runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Skyline Area on City Island, Harrisburg (near the Harrisburg Senator's field).

The 13th Annual Dauphin County Cultural Fest will feature the Children’s Corner from 3:00 PM-7:30 PM for children ages three to twelve. Tying into the overall theme of the event, Family Reunion, this area will feature crafts, activities, and games inspired by different cultures around the world. Children will begin in the area at the registration table where they will receive a “passport” that will get stamped as they visit the differently themed tables. From there they will explore activities inspired by Kenya, Columbia, France, Japan, Romania, and more.

Sponsored by Highmark Blue Shield, Cultural Fest is a day of premier entertainment featuring three national artists, regional and local entertainment, two stages, social services, youth development, ethnic foods, crafts, fun and educational family activities, and so much more.

The Island vendors will be open for business, featuring train rides, miniature golf, merry-go-round, ice cream and other foods.

Please bring lawn chairs, a blanket and small picnic basket and spend the day. The area is stroller friendly as well.

A full schedule of events is attached and will be available at DauphinCounty.org.

From 2 to 6 p.m., there will be Department of Drug and Alcohol Services prevention activities for youth activities, including social services, games, and professional development. Each child will also receive a snack, drink, and handouts.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. Please follow the Dauphin County Parks & Recreation Facebook page for updates.
