DONATE: Shalom House is in need of household items for women and kids

Shalom House is a non-denominational 501c(3) providing shelter for women and children at several locations in the City of Harrisburg. Programs include emergency shelter, transitional housing for women, to include female veterans.  

As part of these programs, Shalom House provides:
• Basic health and wellness needs
• Access to a robust network of community resources
• Group mentoring sessions
• Individualized life coaching and education

Since 2011, Shalom House has served over 815 women and 421 children through all of their housing programs. With a go-to list over 50 support service partners, clients are connected with appropriate agencies, programs and services depending on their personal circumstances and needs.  Shalom House focuses on a one to one case management approach and seeks to attend to the root issues of homelessness and recidivism.

The unique 6-prong approach to recovery from homelessness helps clients focus on six key components of a balanced life; family, finance, social, and spiritual, physical, and mental health.

Shalom House is always in need of essential items to help the women and children who pass through our doors. Currently, we are in need of the following:

  • Towels + washcloths
  • Sheets
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Pillowcases
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Household cleaning and laundry supplies
  • Bus passes
  • Target, Giant or Walmart gift cards
  • Diapers, wipes, baby bottles and blankets
  • Food-handling gloves
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Fluorescent Light bulbs
  • Paper towels
  • Toilet Paper
