Nothing says 4th of July quite like food trucks, live music, baseball & plenty of entertainment for the whole family and that's exactly what Harrisburg & West Shore communities have planned! Below is the scoop on fireworks, festivals, and fun in Harrisburg, Mechanicsburg, Hershey, Millersburg the surrounding area on or near July 4th! **Please note, not all events happen on July 4th, some happen close to then so please double check all event dates.
Fun Food Fest + Fireworks (Hampden Township) - June 29
Fun Food Fest will be taking over the Hampden Park and Pool Complex on June 29, 2019. There will be a DJ taking requests and playing games at Hampden Pool from 1-4 p.m. (Membership or paid daily admission required)
- 1p - 4p: DJ taking requests and playing games at the Hampden Pool (requires paid daily admission or membership to pool)
- 4p - end: a variety of food trucks will be serving food
- 4:30p - 5:30p: The Greater Harrisburg Concert Band will offer a free concert
- 6p - 9p: Local coverband, Headshot, will be making their Hampden Twp Parks & Rec debut with a three hour free concert
Come to FNB Field on City Island to watch your hometown boys take on the Richmond at 7pm. After the game there will be a fantastic fireworks display. Tickets are still available online.
Taste of Independence Food Truck Festival, Riverfront Park, Harrisburg - July 4th
Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra, Reservoir Park, Harrisburg - July 4th
Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra will once again perform on July 4th at 7:30pm in Reservoir Park as part of their Free Summer concert series. Bring your friends and family, along with a blanket or chair to enjoy a family friendly concert. The rain location is The Forum Auditorium.
Pride of the Susquehanna Riverboat, Harrisburg - July 4th
Enjoy a scenic 45min cruise on the beautiful Susquehanna River. It's a unique way to see some of Harrisburg's landmarks as well as enjoy a scenic cruise along the river. Cruises take place at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm & 5pm. Tickets are available online, or at the dock (based on availability).
Hershey Fireworks and Free Outdoor Movie - July 4
Hershey is celebrating the Fourth of July with a fantastic fireworks display at Hersheypark at 10:15pm. AACA Musuem and the South Hanover Township complex offering a great vantage spot to view the fireworks. Enjoy a free movie in the park (Early Man), food trucks, and fun at the South Hanover Township complex. Food trucks begin at 6:30p, with the movie beginning at 8:30p.
Pennsylvania Fish for Free Day - July 4
Pennsylvania waterways are open to anyone (resident or non-resident) to legally fish with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations and posted signs still apply.
