Piped Cookies is cookie business run by Sarah Festa in her home in Mechanicsburg. Sarah is a stay at home mom of two by day and a cookie decorator by night. She started decorating cookies in 2015 for her sister in law's baby shower and hasn't stopped. The business started in Virginia, but Sarah and her family moved to PA in August of last year; Piped Cookies is here to stay! She does wedding/party favor cookies, business logo cookies lots of holiday cookies throughout the year.
The cookies are made with flour, butter, sugar, vanilla and salt. They have a delicious buttery taste and are baked to perfection. These cookies taste as good as they look! They are decorated using a royal icing and can be heat-sealed in individual bags for each order. Sarah’s attention to detail is what makes these cookies so special.
One of the unique items Piped Cookies offers is a Paint Your Own (PYO) cookie that are great for kids parties and favors. It’s a large cookie with a black and white design of your choosing. All you have to do is wet a paintbrush, dip it in the food colored circles and paint your cookie…and then of course eat it!
The most often question she is asked is: How much are your cookies? Cookie pricing is based on the size of the cookie and the complexity of the design. Typically the cookies Sarah is requested to make are between $3 and $4 each.
If you want to get your hands on a Piped Cookie soon, come visit the Upper Allen Fire Department Craft Fair on April 1st from 9-3. It is located at 104 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg. Piped Cookies will be giving out samples and have a variety of decorated cookies individually wrapped for purchase.
Also, Sarah plans on teaching some cookie decorating classes throughout the year. She just scheduled her first one for May and it sold out. There will definitely be another cookie decorating opportunity coming this summer…stay tuned!
