Harrisburg Celebrates Labor Day Weekend with Kipona Festival

The City of Harrisburg invites the community to join the fun at the annual Kipona Festival, held at Riverfront Park and City Island, Harrisburg.

Offering more than 40 food vendors, an Artist Village with handmade crafts and artwork, 3 stages with live music, Biergarten, Native American Pow-Wow on City Island, crab cake eating contest, canoe races, children's festival, games, the Annual Duck Derby rubber duck race in the Susquehanna River to benefit Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and much more!

Fireworks will be held on Sunday, September 1 at approximately 8:15pm from City Island. They can be viewed from both the west shore and the east shore.

Festival Days & Times:
Saturday, August 31: 11am-8pm
Sunday, September 1: 11am-8pm
Monday, September 2: 11am-7pm

Parking is FREE on Sunday and Monday on City streets. On Saturday, 4 hours of free street parking is available using the code LUVHBG in the ParkMobile App. $10 special event parking is being offered in the Market Square garage courtesy of SP Plus, with parking being only $5 parking on City Island.

The Children’s Festival at Kipona offers carnival games, caricatures, face painting, artists, bounce house, arts & crafts & more. Some of the activities have a cost involved.

Native American Pow Wow is going to be held on City Island again this year and will feature singing, dancing & a celebration of the Native American culture. There will also be craft vendors.
