Many of our family members live in other areas of the country, so we always make it a point to mail them a little something for Valentine's Day to let them know we are thinking about them. This year we are sending them hugs!
My 2 year old was very excited about this project and was able to hold still just long enough for me to trace her arms and hands on a large sheet of paper. We used a roll of white paper, but any color would work. You could even use wrapping paper!
My daughter decorated it with crayons and stickers. This is where you can be creative! You could use markers, colored pencils, paints, glue and glitter, etc to decorate it. The sky is the limit! I then cut it out for her and we added hearts cut out of red paper that she had decorated a few days earlier. This is totally optional, but we thought it gave the project a nice Valentine's Day touch.
On the back we wrote ... "We wish we could give you a real hug, but for now this paper one will have to do! Happy Valentine's Day!"
We hope you have fun with this project! We did! Your friends and family will love receiving their hugs in the mail!
