- Our Summer Reading Kickoff is Saturday, June 7. Sign up and join us at the library from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on June 7, for hot dogs, popcorn, beverages, crafts, and activities to celebrate reading and to kick off the Summer Reading Program. Begin to record your reading that day and continue to do so until Friday, August 1. The Mayor’s Award Program will be held on Saturday, August 9, at 10:30 am at Friendship Park in Upper Allen Township following our Run for Reading 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

- This year’s Summer Reading Club is packed with exciting performers and programs! This 9 week program will feature reading activities, with programs for children preschool age through 6th grade. Magic, Science, Zoo America and many other wonderful events are planned, with a family picnic rounding out the fun. Register online starting June 9. All programs sponsored by Friends of East Pennsboro Branch Library.

- Join us at Fredricksen Library and East Pennsboro Branch for another great summer of reading and your family could also be enjoying one of our area’s fun-filled pools for the summer! Thanks to the generosity of Camp Hill Borough, Hampden Township and Lemoyne Borough, we will be giving away a 2014 Family Pool Membership for each pool!
- Registration begins June 2nd
- After registration, come to the Children’s Room and pick up your reading log. Each week you read, write your book’s title in your log. Starting June 23rd, bring your reading log to the Children’s Room and pick up that week’s prize : coupons, toys or goodie. A different prize each week! Check out 5 books and receive a raffle ticket toward a Grand Prize in the display case!

- There are great prizes and programs this summer that will keep you and your child excited about reading. All reading logs must be received by August 23 to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. Participants can continue to turn in reading logs and claim their completion prizes until August 30. All grand prize winners will be announced at the Fun Festival and contacted in September to claim their prizes.

- Read 10 books & earn $10 for your Metro Bank account
- Print out the Summer Reading Reward Program flier, fill it out & return it to Chuck E Cheese for 10 free tokens
- Read 8 books & record them on the reading journal you print out, bring the completed reading journal to Barnes & Noble & pick out a book from their Summer Reading Program list.
