Last night my family and I spent the evening in the Giant Center enjoying the wonders of Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey's DRAGONS.  I've got to admit, even as a kid I've always loved a good circus, but being a parent and seeing your kids enjoy the circus too is something extra special.

We made sure to get there early to catch the preshow, which isn't to be missed!  Arrive up to an hour early to enter the floor to not only meet and take pictures with clowns and performers, but get up close and personal during some pretty funny clown skits, get your very own clown nose, catch a kids' dance party or two, see the amazing elephant paint a picture, watch the horses and goats warm up & more!  There are also temporary tattoos, and the chance to win the exact picture the elephant painted.  If your little one needs to burn off some extra energy before the show starts think about stopping by the bounce house!  For $3, kids can go through once, for $5 they can go multiple times.

The preshow adds something extra special to the circus feeling.  It's super fun to meet the clowns and performers and then see them entertain you with their silliness or amazing talent during the actual circus.  It's great for kids to be able to recognize performers they met in the preshow during the circus, it makes it just a little bit more fun.

The circus itself lasts around two hours, with a 15 minute intermission tucked in there to let you stretch your legs, hit the bathroom and grab a quick snack, if you need to.  The show does have moments of darkness, strobe lights and some pyrotechnics, but nothing too major.

As you watch DRAGONS, you'll see four tribes go through a Tournament of Champions as they seek to embody the ideals of the dragon: strength, courage, wisdom and heart.  These four tribes are extremely talented and are so entertaining!  Kids and parents alike will love watching all of the different high flying and entertaining acts.

I couldn't even begin to tell you about all of the awesome acts, you'll just have to go see DRAGONS to see for yourself.  However, I will tell you that some of our favorites were the lions & tigers (of course!), hair dangling ladies, the girls who performed in the giant suspended balls, trapeze, suspended motorcycles and the silly clowns!

DRAGONS will be at the Giant Center through Monday, so you still have time to get tickets & go!  If you haven't picked up your tickets yet- use our code BLOG to get tickets for only $15 for the 7:30 shows today and tomorrow through TicketMaster.  Not valid on previously purchased tickets.
